A day at the shop

Before the first student climbs aboard.

The driver, the mechanic and the dispatcher work from the same information. Nobody copies a defect from one sheet of paper to another.

  1. 5:45 a.m.The driver does the inspectionOn their phone. A major defect puts the bus out of service and opens a work order.
  2. 6:30 a.m.The mechanic gets to workThe work order is waiting, with the defect and the bus history. They clock in and grab their parts.
  3. 6:40 a.m.Dispatch knows which bus to sendFleet availability is up to date: a replacement bus leaves on time.
  4. This monthPEPs are scheduledFour per year, based on the month due. A late PEP doesn’t push back the next ones.
  5. FridayThe week wraps upHours approved for payroll, costs per bus, shop audits up to date.
What Axlo does for your shop

All your fleet maintenance, in one database.

Pre-trip inspectionsThe driver does it on their phone. Defects reach the shop right away, with the right urgency: major, minor, within 48 h.
Preventive maintenance (PEP)Every three months, based on the month due, four per year. The PEP form is filled in on the work order and prints for your records.
Work ordersComplaint, cause, correction. The mechanic clocks in, parts come out of inventory, and each bus’s history builds itself.
Fleet availabilityWhich buses can run, how long a bus has been down, and why. What dispatch wants to know at 6 a.m.
Parts and ordersInventory by shop, purchase orders to suppliers, receiving, and the real cost of every repair.
Audits and toolsShop and vehicle audits with photos, and the inspection dates of your tools: torque wrenches, lifts.
Pre-trip inspections

From defect to repair, without a single sheet of paper.

The driver does the inspection on their phone, with the right checklist for the vehicle. A major defect alerts the shop before departure. A minor defect becomes a work order with its 48-hour deadline.

Preventive maintenance (PEP)

Every due date, to the day.

Axlo calculates each unit’s next due date according to the SAAQ schedule, based on the date of its last maintenance. You see what’s coming up this week, not what you missed last month.

Questions from shops

How do Geobus routes get into Axlo?

You import the files you receive from the school service centre (one .zip per circuit, or the .csv files). Axlo reads the stops, times and schools, maps the route on the roads and offers it to the driver after their inspection. A new file replaces the old one.

My drivers aren’t comfortable with a phone.

Their screen is made for them: they pick their bus, check off the inspection and send it. Nothing else.

How does Axlo calculate PEPs?

Every three months, based on the month due, four per year. A late PEP doesn’t push back the next ones; an early PEP moves the schedule forward.

We have several shops. Does it work?

Yes. Each shop has its own fleet, mechanics and inventory, and management sees the whole picture.

How do we import our fleet?

Send us your bus list in Excel (unit number, VIN, plate) and the date of the last PEPs: we’ll import it for you.

We’ll show you, with your own fleet.

30 minutes, in person or by video. You talk to someone who has run a fleet’s maintenance, not to a salesperson.

Or write to us: info@axlo.ca The Axlo app itself is in French; this site is in English for your convenience.
